Help us all enjoy the night sky by turning off your lights at dusk on Saturday, Aug. 10. This is an annual event to mark the brilliant night skies that were available during the 2003 blackout and is timed to line up with the Perseid meteor shower. The actual peak of the Perseid meteor shower for 2019 is Aug. 12.

The event is also a reminder of the benefits of keeping our light emissions as low as possible throughout the season, allowing all of us to get more enjoyment out of the night skies.
